The J.S Barclay Process

1. Meetings. We initially meet with senior and operating management to gain their perspective and expectations, and discuss an overview of the strategic planning process planned. We ascertain their view of recent history and the performance factors that created the present situation. 
2. Analysis. We determine information requirements and conduct an in-depth analysis. We examine your strategic position in the market place, as well as econometrics, SWOT analysis, PEST analysis, trend analysis, situation analysis, related federal policies, market research, competition, operating environment, organization, budgets, and other key factors that can have an impact on performance. 
3. Interviews. We conduct formal one-on-one interviews utilizing various information-gathering tools, questionnaires, graphics, etc. Our goal is to verify the information analyzed, and to further understand the culture, operational issues, core competencies, strategy and decisions made, future opportunities, among others. We also make preliminary preparation for the plan’s implementation and support.
4. Strategic Plan Development. A draft of the strategic plan is customized, written and prepared for senior management review. The strategic plan is designed to be an action plan focused on accomplishing achievable goals with an accompanying implementation program, schedule and metrics.  Upon review, which may have reiterations, a final plan is submitted for approval. 5. Facilitation and Follow-up. J.S. Barclay can serve as a facilitator, and kick-off the implementation of the Strategic Plan. We address how the goals and objectives can be achieved, resolve conflicts and provide coaching as-needed.
